Italian American dish with shrimp and linguine. Tossed in a spicy tomato sauce.

  • 1 lb ShrimpDefrosted, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 ea Small onionchopped
  • 4 ea Garlic Clovechopped
  • 14 oz Can crushed or diced tomatoes
  • 1 ea Can of tomato pasteOptional
  • 0 tt Red Pepper Flakes
  • cup Dry white wine or cooking wine
  • tsp Oregano
  • 0 tt Salt and Pepper
  • 0 tt Parsleychopped
  • 6 ea Fresh Basil Leaveschopped
  • 8 oz Linguine

Steps

    Heat oil in large pan to medium heat. Season the thawed (if frozen) shrimp with salt and pepper and 1 tsp of chili flakes. Cook 2-3 minutes each side, then set aside.

    Add onion and more olive oil if needed to the same pan. Cook them down 5 minutes to soften

    Add garlic and cook for a minute

    Start heating up pot of water to cook linguine. Time cooking linguine with simmering of the sauce.

    Add crushed tomatoes, can of paste if using, chili flakes (start with 1 tsp and add more to taste), white wine, oregano, salt and pepper to taste.

    Simmer sauce for 10-15 minutes and cook linguine while simmering.

    Stir in reserved shrimp and heat for about a minute.

    Stir in parsley and basil. Adjust to taste the chili pepper flakes, salt and pepper

    Remove from heat and toss with prepared linguine noodles.
